Speech rooms have suddenly become a new feature for many applications and social media platforms. How Club House took the world by storm with its unique voice-only chat rooms. And because this is an important feature, Twitter has also decided to join the group that enables voice chat, called Spaces. Find out how to create and join Twitter spaces.
Twitter is trying to integrate voice and audio across all its platforms. Starting with voice tweets, which allow you to record audio and tweet in the same way you normally would with text. The same goes for the recently announced voicemail, which can be sent via direct messaging. Now that Twitter has launched Spaces, let’s explain what it is.
What are Twitter Spaces?
Twitter Spaces is a new way of audio communication with 11 people, including the host. Since Spaces is public, any Twitter user can join the conversation. You don’t have to be a supporter of the host to participate.
Twitter Spaces is currently only available to a limited number of iOS users. Android users can also join existing Twitter spaces, but can’t create one like iOS users, at least for now. This feature is currently being tested and will soon be available to all users worldwide.

Anyone with Twitter for iOS can create Twitter Spaces (for now), except those whose accounts have secure tweets. You can come into Spaces and talk, but you can’t make them.

Twitter spaces are an interesting and useful feature. And if you want to give it a try, here’s how to create Twitter spaces. Making space is easier than you think.
- Currently, only an iOS user can create a space on Twitter by long-pressing Tweet Compose and tapping the diamond-shaped icon for new spaces. You can do this when you are on the Twitter home screen.
- Another way to create a Twitter space is to tap on your Fleets profile picture, scroll to the right and tap on Spaces.
- You can name your space and invite others to access it.
- To invite listeners or speakers, you can send a link to the rooms by DM or simply share the link via any medium.
- If you are the host, you can choose who gets to speak in your Twitter space. You can select Everyone, the people you follow, or just those you invite to speak.
How to join Twitter Spaces on Android and iOS
The connection to the room is quite simple. And if you also want to join an existing space on Twitter, this guide is for you. Android and iOS users (iPhone and iPad) with Twitter accounts can easily join Twitter Spaces.
As you know, anyone can join the Twitter Space, whether they are followers of the host or not. The process of joining Twitter Space is also different in the two cases. Let’s start with the first case where you follow the host:
- On the main screen, look at the tab where the fleets are. If a space is created by any of the following, you will see what is shown in the following screenshot.
- Join the fleet.

Now the second case, where you don’t follow the host:
- You will only see the Twitter section created by your follower or someone you follow.
- To join a Twitter section that is not displayed in the fleet section, you will need a link.
- The host can share links via a tweet, DM or other platform.
- So if you have a link to Twitter Space, click on it, open it on Twitter and join Twitter Space.
The Twitter room can hold up to 11 speakers and an unlimited number of listeners. If you wish to participate as a speaker, you may click the Request button at any time to request permission to participate as a speaker.
Space management
As a host, you have control over your space. You can delete, report and even block a user from your space. Note that if you lock a user for your Space, you also lock it for your main account. Your listeners can block and report other participants.
Who may speak in the Twitter room
As the Cosmic Creator, you have the freedom to choose who you talk to. You can choose to follow everyone, the people you follow or just the people you invite.
To end the cosmos
Only the Master can end the cosmos. But if your space is perceived as hurtful, it can also destroy itself halfway through.
Using Twitter spaces
Well, they can be used in many ways. Live podcasts, talk shows, a panel discussion, or even a guide. They can even organize an interactive question and answer session. You can even turn it into a jam session, where different speakers play an instrument or sing while the audience plays along too.
Accessibility of online titles
Listeners now have the option to activate live subtitles. These are living labels, but they are not always correct. This option is only available if hosts have live subtitles enabled in their Twitter feed.

Listeners or others can mark the space if they notice something is wrong. Depending on cosmic activity and if Twitter determines that it is in violation of its terms, Twitter Space may be closed in the process.
